ENROLLMENT FORM
Determine the number of classroom hours required to obtain a license. Most students will need to take sixty (60) hours of pre-licensing courses. Some will only be required to take a thirty (30) hours course due to having an insurance license or a real estate broker's license.
The two courses consist of fifty-four (54) hours of Core material plus four (4) hours of Ethics. The Texas Dept. of Savings & Mortgage Lending requirements to obtain your Loan Officer's license are met with these approved classes.
The Loan Officer / Mortgage Broker EXAM PREP class is not a required class for taking the state test. It is, however, highly recommended to avoid the frustration and additional expense of having to take the test a second or third time. Lone Star SML is so confident of the quality of our Exam Prep material that we allow any student failing the initial test to retake the EP class. We will work with the student to analyze why the student didn't pass and concentrate on the information the student may not have fully comprehended during the initial class.

Remember, you only pay for EXAM PREP once. You are allowed to return and participate in this class until you pass the test. Note: Bring your test result when you come back the second time.

SML BROKER / LOAN OFFICER CONTINUING EDUCATION ( MCE )
Loan Officers and Brokers are required to take a fifteen ( 15) hour class to renew their licenses. This is usually accomplished by taking the course in a classroom environment over a two day period. The cost of the renewal class is $89.00.
